Shumpei Nemoto is originally from Japan.
He professionally danced at Royal Ballet, Deutsche Oper Am Rhein, and Cullberg Ballet.
He started as a freelance choreographer and teacher in 2013 and has worked at several European dance companies and universities.
Besides commission work, he has created several productions and presented at Tanztheater International Hannover, Unterwegstheater in Heidelberg, Scenario Pubblico in Catania, Tokyo Arts and Space, and more.
In recent years he has been exploring interest in video, sound, light, and computer programming to connect different media to dance performances.
